About Dr. G

Bakersfield Orthodontist Dr. Jared GianquintoDr. Jared Gianquinto believes in excellence. Combining state of the art technology with individualized patient care allows Dr. G and his team to create incredible smiles. However, what Dr. Gianquinto is most passionate about is the life-changing confidence that comes with wearing a smile you are proud of.

Dr. Gianquinto grew up in Bakersfield, and returned to Kern County to take care of the community that laid the foundation for his success.

After graduating from Garces Memorial High School, Dr. G went on to the University of Colorado at Boulder and University of New Mexico, earning his B.A. in Biochemistry. A brief foray into the telecommunications industry took him to San Luis Obispo before continuing on to Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, where he earned the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy Scholarship, and a full scholarship through the United States Navy.

As a Navy Dentist, Dr. G. completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego, and received additional certifications in TMJ and orofacial pain management, complex endodontic therapy, oral surgery, periodontal surgery and combat casualty care. He then served as Dental Officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan for two West Pacific deployments, earning multiple awards, medals and a back seat ride in a jet.

Dr. G transferred to the Navy Reserves in 2008 and private practice in general and cosmetic dentistry in San Diego and Orange County before returning to Temple University. During his nearly three years of orthodontics specialty training, Dr. G studied Craniofacial Anomalies at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia and combined orthodontic/orthognathic surgical treatment at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. G served as Chief Resident of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics while completing research in 3D imaging technology. He received both his specialty certificate and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology, and returned to private practice of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in Bakersfield, CA.

Dr. G. continues to serve his country as a  Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy Reserve. He has accompanied humanitarian missions to Haiti, Guatemala and the Philippines with the Haitian Health Foundation, HELPS International and US Navy. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and past president of the Kern County Dental Society.

When Dr. G isn’t creating beautiful smiles, he hangs out with his wife Sarah and their dog, plays music in local bands, surfs, and flies airplanes. Be sure to check out his surfboard and guitar collection when you visit the office!
