Clear braces, Invisalign and lingual braces (braces on the back of the teeth) are excellent esthetic treatment options, but are not necessarily any faster on their own. Surgical procedures to shorten treatment time are available, and your orthodontist should be very familiar with them.

If you’ve ever seen a grown-up squeeze into their child’s desk at school during Parent/Teacher night, you have a pretty good idea of what a visit to an orthodontists’ office may be like. Some offices just aren’t set up to see adult patients. Children do make up a majority of the orthodontic patient population, but that doesn’t mean your experience has to be like sitting at the kids’ table on Thanksgiving. Be sure to ask if the office has a “VIP” area for adults, or appointments available while kids are in school.
