INBRACE Invisible Braces

INBRACE Invisible Braces

What Are INBRACE Invisible Braces?

Lingual braces are worn on the lingual, or tongue side, of the teeth. Placement aside, they’re almost exactly like traditional braces, and just as effective. Because they’re worn on the back side of the teeth, lingual braces are virtually invisible—a great option for anyone who may be self-conscious about wearing braces. While they may be invisible to the rest of the world, you’ll start seeing results in just weeks.

What Makes INBRACE Better?

We’re the only office in Kern County that uses INBRACE, the most effective, convenient, sophisticated type of lingual braces.

What makes them so great, you may ask?

For one thing, whereas most lingual braces use elastic ties to hold the wire in place, INBRACE uses small clips that are much easier to insert—resulting in less chair time for you.

Speaking of wires, INBRACE lets us create customized wires, preformed for each individual case. Not only does this give you a more unique smile, it means less wire changes—only three, in fact—and less soreness. Yes, that also means fewer trips to the orthodontist.

Lingual braces can be hard to keep clean, but INBRACE solves that problem too. Since the wires are created with loops in between the teeth, they’re easy to floss without the use of floss aids. And because the brackets are the smallest on the market, it’s a cinch to keep them clean.

INBRACE vs. Invisalign Removable Aligners

If you’re looking for invisible orthodontic treatment, you may have heard of Invisalign: clear aligners you can get instead of traditional braces.

At this point, you may be wondering which is better—Invisalign or INBRACE?

If you ask us, we’ll recommend INBRACE almost every time because it’s so much easier for you. Clear aligners need to be worn for at least 22 hours a day and changed every two weeks. You’ll have to take them out before eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing.

With INBRACE, you don’t have to worry about any of that. We simply place the braces and you’re good to go. You won’t have to take them out, you’ll easily keep your teeth clean, and you’ll only need them changed three times. Plus, you can keep enjoying the things you love, like red wine and coffee, without worrying about staining your clear aligners.

How it Works

You may experience some discomfort for the first week as your tongue gets used to lingual braces. To help ease you in with as little discomfort as possible, we’ll set up a conditioning appointment for you three weeks before we place the braces. At this appointment, we’ll bond a few small metal buttons to the lingual side of your bottom row back teeth. This way, the tongue can get used to having a few braces on the inside of the mouth before we place a full set.

Before placing the braces, we’ll take a digital scan of your teeth so we can create customized wires. At your next appointment a few weeks later, we’ll place the wire and brackets on the lingual side of your teeth. Over time, the wires will move gently to straighten your teeth. We’ll set up appointments for you to come in three times over the course of your treatment to get the wires adjusted. Once your treatment is complete, we’ll remove the wires and brackets and you can enjoy your brand new smile!

INBRACE FAQs

Are there any dietary restrictions with INBRACE braces?

Dietary restrictions for INBRACE are the same as for traditional braces. Foods that are hard, sticky, chewy, or crunchy can loosen the braces and interfere with treatment.

How often will I need to come in for appointments?

Lingual braces require less appointments than traditional braces, and the appointments are generally shorter because the wires don’t take as long to adjust. Typically, you can expect to come in every  eight to 10 weeks.

How long does INBRACE treatment take?

On average, INBRACE treatment takes six to eighteen months to complete. We can give you a more exact estimate at your consultation.

Is INBRACE more expensive than regular braces?

INBRACE tends to be about the same as traditional braces, however it requires fewer in-office appointments.

How much does INBRACE cost?

On average, INBRACE costs about $5,000 to $6,000. We can give you a more exact estimate at your consultation.

Is INBRACE treatment uncomfortable?

Many people experience mild discomfort for the first week as their tongue adjusts, but in general, lingual braces are more comfortable than traditional braces, especially since you won’t have to come in for frequent replacements and tightenings. INBRACE uses GentleForce technology for the most comfortable experience possible.

How do I keep my INBRACE braces clean?

Keeping INBRACE braces clean is relatively easy. Brush and floss daily, paying especially close attention to the area behind your lower front teeth. We highly recommend a water flosser!

Will I need retainers after INBRACE treatment?

Yes. We recommend wearing your retainer for one year after getting your braces off, then wearing it at night after that. This will keep your smile looking its best.

Can I play sports with INBRACE braces?

Yes. INBRACE braces are ideal for sports and compatible with mouthguards.
